#10 Honda Civic
According to MotorTrend, the new 11th generation 2022 Honda Civic outshines its eternal rival Toyota Corolla in every aspect, and now its ahead of it in sales charts as well. Continuing the Man Maximum/Machine Minimum philosophy, it remains passenger and driver focused.
#9 Toyota Highlander
7-seaters do not usually make to the top 10 best-selling list, which makes the 9th spot for the Toyota Highlander even more remarkable. Up 24 percent compared to the previous model year, the SUV offers fresh underpinnings, introduced in 2020, high quality interior, and plenty of tech. For 2022, the Highlander also adds new colors and a couple of exterior appearance editions.
#8 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The new chapter of the Grand Cherokee’s legend swiftly takes over the mid-size segment. Additionally, the fifth generation can fully match the Grand moniker, since it’s now available in a 7-inches longer 3-row L version.
#7 Nissan Rogue
Fully redesigned for 2021, the new Nissan Rogue grabs the title of Nissan’s best-selling model in the US, increasing its sales by 24 percent and finishing in the 7th place on the market overall. In 2022, the model will try to beat its own records with an all-new turbocharged powertrain.
#6 Toyota Camry
In 2021, Toyota once again reinforced its commitment to passenger cars, by giving its best-seller a mild facelift. Buyers were quick to respond, and the Toyota Camry saw a 7-percent sales increase, ending up as the 6th top-purchased car in America.
#5 Honda CR-V
Despite showing some age, the CR-V remains Honda’s bread and butter. In 2022 its hybrid version becomes the only available choice for the European market. The US also keeps the 190 horsepower 1.5L Turbo 4-cylinder.
#4 Toyota RAV4
The RAV4 can be hardly called an exciting franchise, but in 2020 its total tally had reached 10 million units, forever solidifying the status of the world’s best-selling crossover. In 2021 another 400 thousands were sold in the US and this perfectly-balanced family hauler is showing no signs of slowing down.
#3 Chevrolet Silverado
Continuously finishing in the top three, the 2021 Chevy Silverado gets the bronze, giving way to the more available RAM pickup. The 8-percent slip in sales was caused by chip shortages, so if GM manages to find a steady supply source in 2022, Silverado is likely to fight for silver.
#2 Ram Pickup
After outperforming the F-150 in the 4th quarter of year and earning its 3rd consecutive Truck of Year MotorTrend Award, the RAM truck is expected to gain even more traction with a healthy boost from Stellantis.
#1 Ford F-150
According to the latest reports, the F-Series pickup was the most badly hit vehicle from the world’s chip shortage. However, despite cutting the production by more than 110,000 units, the end of the year sales for the US still reached unbeatable 726 thousand.
